First of all, what is SOG? SOG is the method represent the Sea Of Green, and The benefit of growing indoor plants, especially medicinal palnts, using a SOG is to accelerate bud development to gain large yields as quickly as possible. This method of growing calls for more plants per square foot and a short vegetative stage.
As we know, indoor farming gennerally is planting in a small area, non-like outdoor farming. Since the land source is limited, the SOG is one of the method to increase yield and there are other benefits of SOG, I will explain later. Since the land sourse is limited but brings higher yield, that's why more and more farmers are choosing SOG to plant.
What are the benefits of SOG method? Once your propagated cannabis plants are ready, move them into the vegetative stage for 2-3 weeks instead of the 2-6 weeks used in other methods. After 2-3 weeks you can change your lighting and environment for the flowering stage. As the canopy closes, you can trim the lower branches for better airflow and top growth. Then you can start your next recycle, the total time spend is almost half copared to other indoor farming method. In this situation you need an adjustable LED grow light to satisfited the lighting requirement for different stage.
Originally sog is to grow more plants in the same size place, due to the time saving I mentioned, SOG allows farmers to plant more plants in the same time period, almost twice more than other method. As a resuilt, SOG brings more yield, however if you are not a full time farmer, I don't recommand SOG method to you, because this method requise you to do the farm works twice more. More recycles, means more farm works you need to reepeat, it's not hard to understand. So, even SOG is a great method, however it's not suitbale for everyone, you need to choose your farming method base on your own situation.
